Hasta la vista Frenchy

Mariya's headache was gone by the time we got in to Salzburg. "It's not a tumour", she told me. Ok, I can't help it, this blog may be packed full of Arnie quotes.

We arrived at the Salzburg train station at about 8pm in the evening and jumped a taxi to our accommodation in the centre of town, the Mercure Hotel. The Taxi Driver was awesome, he had no issues with the skis (unlike the frenchies), put down his seat and threw the skis in the car. When we got to the Mercure I paid the taxi driver and "I let him go". By now we were sick and tired of taking risks with the hotel accommodation (feel free to refer to our hotel selection issues in numerous previous blogs) so decided to go with a brand name hotel we were familiar with. We weren't disappointed, the hotel was great and almost half the price of our accommodation in France. We settled in to our hotel room and put up our feet to "Let off some steam".

Mariya had googled things to do in Salzburg and found a thing called the Salzburg Card. You basically pay 30 Euros for a card that's valid for 48 hours and it pays for entry into any attraction in Salzburg and includes the use of any Salzburg public transport as well.

With the Salzburg Card in hand all our transport needs were sorted so we had no need to "Get to the chopper", freebies are always a plus.

I'm going to cover our days in Salzburg in seperate posts as we did a huge amount of activities while there. "Sarah Connor, you have been targetted for termination". Woah, sorry about that, let's get back on track.

Needless to say Austria was ausgezeichnet yet again, Austria, "I'll be back!".

Some suggestions:

"What's the matter? DA got you pushing too many pencils?" (to any reception workers that aren't being helpful).

"Hasta la vista, baby." (when you *finally* get rid of the skies).

"Dylan! You son of a *&^%$!" (...for anyone named Dylan really...).
